Russell Rex McCarty

Russell Rex McCarty, 79, of Mount Clare passed away at Crestview Manor in Jane Lew on Sunday, February 7, 2021. He was born on July 7, 1941 in Buckhannon, WV son of the late Russell William and Queen Elizabeth Westfall McCarty.

Russell attended Central Junior High in Harrison County, WV and then later worked to complete his GED. He worked as a mechanic at Craig Motors for many years. Russell enjoyed to hunt and had an interest and a talent for taxidermy. He also enjoyed to fish and was a member of the Stonewall Jackson Bass Masters Club.

Russell is survived by his children, Russell Alan and Maxine McCarty, Clarksburg, Tammy Lynn and Bradley Lee Greathouse, and  Michael Adam and Angel McCarty, all of Mount Clare; four grandchildren, Jenna Lynn and Robin McCarty, Lakewood, WA, Justin and McKenna Jo McCarty, Clarksburg; Amanda Lorraine and Matthew James, Louisa, VA, Zackery Michael and Adara McCarty, Marysville, OH; six great grandchildren; as well as numerous other relatives.

In addition to his parents, Russell was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte Virginia McCarty, on December 27, 2018.

Russell McCarty’s family would like to thank the staff and administration at Crestview Manor for their excellent and loving care.
