Obituary
Ralph Edwin Thorn IV, 80, of Morgantown, passed away on Monday, June 12, 2023, at Windy Hill Village. He was born on October 23, 1942 in Clarksburg, WV, son of the late Ralph Edwin Thorn III and Nellie Reynolds Thorn.
Ralph graduated from Washington Irving High School class of 1960. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He graduated from West Virginia University in 1969 with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. He worked for Fort Martin Power Station for many years. In his spare time, he enjoyed hanging out in his garage, working on his cars, attending car shows, and having a beer with his friends.
Ralph is survived by his sons, Ralph “Be” Thorn and wife Paula, and Andrew Thorn and wife Jennifer. A granddaughter, Karina Thorn and a great-granddaughter, Kimber.
In lieu of a service, the family will be holding a Celebration of Life for Ralph on Sunday, July 9, 2023, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the American Legion Post 174, 3470 Earl L. Core Road, Morgantown, WV 26508.
