Jerry Muncy II Obituary

Jerry David Muncy II, 42, of Jane Lew departed this earthly life, unexpectedly at his father’s residence, on August 27, 2020. He was born on December 28, 1977, the son of Jerry Muncy, Jane Lew, and the late Connie Muncy.

Jerry was a dedicated father and loved all of his children dearly, as they meant the entire world to him. Jerry was a 1996 graduate of Burch High School in Delbarton, WV. His passions included fishing, hunting, and being in the outdoors. Jerry was a man of many trades. He was a talented carpenter, electrician, mechanic, and painter. He loved just being a normal father, brother, and uncle to all of his loved ones. Jerry loved to play the guitar and sing every chance he could get. Jerry was fond of the holidays- not because of gifts or meals, but because of the time he got to spend with his beloved family and friends. He was an aspiring writer and wanted to publish his first book as an autobiography regarding his struggles he faced early in his life. He will be greatly missed by all who crossed his path.

In addition to his mother, he is joined in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents and sister, Lana White.

Jerry is survived by one son, Caleb Muncy, Fairmont; three daughters, Keona and Kira, both of Clarksburg, and Brooklyn, Weston; two sisters, Stephanie Smith and Steven, Clarksburg and Jerry Lynn Ogilvie and Matthew, Oviedo, FL; one brother, Kenneth Muncy and Jennifer, Piedmont; six nieces, Toni Lynn Roblee, Tasha Radley, Danielle Rinehart, Alexandrina “Alex” Ogilvie, Isabella Rinehart, and Rebekah Rinehart; two nephews, Nicholas Ogilvie and Steven Smith Jr., and another niece or nephew on the way; as well as several great nieces and nephews.

Together we share in the gift that was Jerry David Muncy’s life and the pain that his passing brings. In sharing in the emotions that Jerry’s passing brings, may we lessen the heartache and remember the joy more clearly. What started out as a life full of promise was taken away too quickly. However, the impact his life had will last forever. It is so hard to say goodbye, so for now we will say “so-long”. The pages of Jerry’s book will never be closed. We will remember him through the many people he leaves behind.
