Obituary
James M. “Mike” Young, 67 passed away February 23, 2022 after a long illness. He was preceded in death by his father James F. Young and his mother Patreaca L. Hitchcock. Mike will be deeply missed by his wife, Denise James Young of Gassaway, West Virginia, his two children, Joshua Young and Amy Hollis both of New Port Richey, FL , his two grandchildren , Katherine (Katie) Hollis of Spring Hill, Florida and Brett Hollis currently stationed in Anchorage, Alaska.
Mike graduated from Braxton County High School in 1972. He lived in Florida for 34 years and worked in the air conditioning and refrigeration field. He was always the first one to help a friend or neighbor in need. He enjoyed gardening, biking, waterskiing, and taking his grandchildren on many trips Disney World. He always participated in all the activities associated with his favorite holiday, Halloween, with his most memorable costume, Papa Smurf. It took him days to get the blue out of his beard.
The family will be having a private memorial service.
