Harry Grant Wine

Harry Grant Wine, 87, of Bridgeport passed away on Thursday, April 22, 2021 at his residence with family by his side. He was born May 7, 1933 in Clarksburg, the son of the late Harry G and Sara Margaret Rutter Dessent.

Harry graduated from Bridgeport High School in 1951. He retired from the United States Navy after over twenty years of service to his country. Harry enjoyed working outside doing yard work. He also loved to keep a garden and take care of his vegetables and flowers. When he was younger, one of his favorite things to do was to talk to his late uncle, “Art” Arthur Rutter, on the telephone. They would reminisce and laugh and spend hours catching up. His greatest passion was spending time with his family and loved ones, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Harry is survived by his loving wife of over fifty-eight years, Mary Ann Vivier Wine, Bridgeport; one granddaughter, Sara Goff, Carolina; two grandsons, Michael Wine, and Zach Wine, Clarksburg; great grandchildren, Chelsea, Xavier, Ashton, Laylah, Arielle, Tristan, and Micah; two special nieces, Cynthia Parks, Alexandria, VA and Terri Martin, Haymarket, VA; as well as several other nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents and his uncle Art, Harry was preceded in death by one son, David Wine and one brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Ruth Wine, aunt, Mary Kesling and cousin, Herman "Bud" Kesling.
