Mary Anne Maze

Mary Anne Maze, 80 of Terra Alta, West Virginia passed away peacefully at home on December 15, 2018 after a prolonged illness.

Mary Anne was born August 31, 1938 in Sistersville, West Virginia, the oldest child of the late Carl Edwin Fox Sr. and Georgia Ruth Riemenschneider.

Mary Anne graduated from Sistersville High School in 1956 where she was employed briefly as a secretary. After a short employment at Union Carbide in Long Reach, West Virginia, she moved to California where she resided for 17 years, working various capacities in management in the retail grocery business. She spent 13 years split between living in the Middle East and West Virginia. She later owned and operated a number of businesses. In later years she worked for American Greetings, stocking and managing card displays in various stores around Morgantown, West Virginia. However, her favorite occupation was providing security for West Virginia University sporting events, especially for the basketball team where many of the coaches, managers and plays affectionately called her “Mom”.

Mary Anne was a loyal Sistersville High graduate and rarely missed attending the annual Alumni Celebration, often traveling half-way around the world to share the three day event with classmates and friends.

Mary Anne is survived by her husband of 57 years, Kenneth Robert maze, daughters: Tamara Ann Craven, Stephanie Anne Johnson, Kerri Anne Proulx, grandchildren: Justin Robert Travis, Brianna Nicole Knight, Shaun Thomas Craven, Michael Nash Proulx, Kalie Marie Johnson, great-grandchildren:  Jacob Adian Knight, Aayden Nichole Johnson, Riley Nichole Knight, Kylei Roseanne Craven, Zavier Kenneth Navarro, Travis Kharyn Wayde Bair, siblings: Carl Fox Jr., Janet Louise Hennick,  and Elizabeth Todd Davis.

In addition to her parents Mary Anne was preceded in death by her great-grandson Caleb Allen Knight.

In accordance with Mary Anne’s wishes cremation services were provided and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
