Isaac Gibson, 38 of Weston passed away on Friday, August 3, 2018. He was born August 28, 1979 in Somerset, Pennsylvania, son of William “Bill” Gibson and Catherine O’Dell both of Morgantown, WV.
Isaac graduated from University High School, Class of 1998. He received his B.S. in Computer Science and his M.S. in Wildlife and Fisheries Management from WVU. He worked for the WV Division of Natural Resources in the wildlife diversity program. He was passionate about conservation and was most recently working to save Candy Darters, an at-risk fish species in West Virginia. Isaac had a deep respect, appreciation, and love for nature, which he shared with everyone who knew him. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a black belt in Aikido. He was a loving and devoted father and husband to his family, as well as a caring and thoughtful friend and colleague. His passing leaves an unfillable hole and he will be sorely missed.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Genevieve Larimer; one son, River William Gibson; five siblings, Anne Price, Morgantown, Jourdan Gibson, Morgantown, Maggey and Ryan Gibson, Morgantown, and Jason Williams, Charleston, WV; his step-mother, Gretchen Gibson; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Isaac was preceded in death by his grandparents, John A. and Rose T. Gibson of Johnstown, Pa. and Thomas N. and Joan S. O’Dell of Charleston, WV.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday August 11, 2018 from 10am until 12 noon at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 161 Meadow View Lane, Morgantown, WV 26508.
