Harold "Doc" T Drainer

Harold “Doc” T. Drainer 92, of Rosemont, WV passed away on Thursday November 2, 2018 at United Hospital Center from complications following surgery from a broken hip with family by his side. He was born July 25, 1926 in Rosemont, WV, the son of the late Dewey Edward and Maude M. (Carder) Drainer.

He served as an MP in the US Army during WWII. He enjoyed watching TV and spending time with his family and telling stories.  His hobbies included making knives and guns.  He drove a coal truck for many years retiring from Atha Trucking.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter, Sheryl E Drainer; his son, Harold T Drainer Jr.; son-in-law, Daniel J Criss; his sisters Elwanda Ireland, Shirley Poole, and his brother Edward Drainer.

Those left behind to cherish his memory include his wife, Betty R (Cottrill) Drainer of sixty eight years; two daughters, Carolyn S Davisson and husband Rick, Wallace, Debra Criss, Rosemont; his brother, James W Drainer, CA; his grandchildren, Richard and Kristy Davisson, Tina and David Currey, Michael and Mary Drainer, Matthew and Chandra Drainer, Dylan and Jessica Criss, and Dalton Criss, his great-grandchildren, Courtney, Daniel, Cody, Corrie, Ryan, Trey, Kaelyn, Alissa, Elijah, and great-great grandson, Jacob.  

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at Bailey United Methodist Church at 2:00 PM with Pastor Lois Sandy officiating.  “We will always carry your memory in our hearts.” Affordable Funeral and Cremation in Nutter Fort, WV handled the arrangements for the Drainer family.
