Patrick John Carey

Patrick John Carey, 70 of Hurricane, WV passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2024 at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital with family by his side. He was born May 22, 1953, son of the late James Edward Carey and Arbutus “Boots” Staats Carey Higginbotham. Patrick graduated from Hurricane High School, Class of 1971. He retired as a service manager with Ikon Office Solutions with over 30 years of service.  He loved the Beatles, Elvis, Gunsmoke and Andy Griffith. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Hurricane. He is survived by his wife, Sharon Ann Zeniecki Carey whom he married May 18, 1974; one son, Justin Patrick Carey and wife Amber, Cheat Lake; one daughter, Brittany Elizabeth Ingraham and Ian, Hurricane; six grandchildren, Jax, Jade, Mason, Brooks, Nash, and Baker; three siblings, Libby Dempsey, St Albans, James Carey and wife Peggy, Hurricane, Rex Carey and Roberta, Myrtle Beach, SC; several nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, Patrick was preceded in death by one brother, Daniel “Nub” Carey. Patrick will be cremated with a Celebration of Life service held on Thursday, January 18, 2024 at 12:00 Noon at Ascension Catholic Church in Hurricane, WV.
